The House of Dereon is Beyonce & Beyonce's mom, Tina Knowles' clothing line. It embraces 3 generates of women in the family - Beyonce, Tina and Agnez Dereon (Tina's mother). The name Dereon is a tribute to Agnez. When Beyonce was with Destiny's child, the band was just starting out so funds and access to clothing were extremely limited to non-existent. It was Tina who came to the girlss' rescue - she created and made all the outfits for the girls. It was those early years of Tina's one-of-a-kind fashions that helped set Destiny's Child apart from the mainstream.
In 2004, Beyonce and Tina announced the expansion of their creative into a clothing line to bring it to the masses. The line was introduced to the world on the Oprah Wynfrey show and then on Tyra Bank's Show. The style of the House of Dereon is a mixture of all 3 women's generations - Agnez' 40s, Tina's 70s and Beyonce's hip-hop.
In 2006, Dereon - the junior line was introduced by Beyonce and her sister, Solange Knowles. It is geared towards a much younger audience at a more affordable price.
